Chicago, United States – March 5, 2019 /PressCable/ —
Chimniak Court Reporting, a Chicago-based court reporting firm, was invited to participate in the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers Project Law Day on February 27, 2019. The evening was a career event held at the Grunyk Family Law offices in downtown Naperville and attended by Girl Scouts from various troops in DuPage County, ages 11 to 15, who are interested in a career in the legal field.
The evening consisted of various presentations by DuPage County judges, attorneys, and paralegals, along with members of the Chimniak firm, Robin Chimniak and Nicole Breytspraak. The presentations gave the Girl Scout attendees an in-depth look at the evolving career paths that are open to them as possible future members of the litigation arena. They were given insight into the legal field from all vantage points. The evening was one in a series that the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers is sponsoring for the Girls Scouts to not only facilitate their future career paths, but to also earn a career-based badge.
The Chimniak team provided information on the court reporting field regarding education, certification, and various career paths that are offered in their area of litigation support. There was also a demonstration of real-time provided by Ms. Breytspraak to give all attendees more insight into how the technology behind court reporting works. The members of the audience were able to take part in the presentation by asking questions as the evening s proceedings were being written through stenographic means onto a screen.
Ms. Chimniak is a 30-plus year court reporter that has spent the majority of her career in the Chicago area, with the exception of a three-year absence, during which she worked in Canada as a freelance reporter for the Ontario Energy Board, Ontario Environmental Board, and Ontario Insurance Board.
Ms. Breytspraak is a 20-plus year court reporter who has also spent her career in the Chicago area. She is a long-time member of the CCRV team, presently working providing CART services to hard of hearing students.
Ms. Chimniak and Ms. Breytspraak are both very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event to promote their industry.
